How I Help
Non-Monogamy Co is an Australian coaching practice founded by certified sexologist James Buckley. It offers online and in-person support for ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, jealousy, kink, BDSM and D/s relationships — for individuals and couples alike.
Online or in the room
Most clients work with me by video from anywhere in Australia. If you're in Sydney, come see me in the flesh. I also travel nationally to run workshops on non-monogamy, jealousy and D/s — so if your group or event needs a facilitator, get in touch.
Opening Up & Polyamory
Most people find me when a relationship is changing shape. Maybe you're opening up for the first time, dating as a couple, or already deep in a polycule and want it to run more smoothly. We work on the actual stuff — agreements, boundaries, communication, and the feelings underneath all of it.
Working Through Jealousy
Jealousy is the thing almost everyone worries about, and almost nobody talks about well. It's not a character flaw and it's not a dealbreaker — it's information. I'll help you read what it's telling you and build the security to move through it.

What does a non-monogamy coach do?
A non-monogamy coach helps individuals and couples navigate open relationships, polyamory and other forms of ethical non-monogamy. That covers the whole arc — the first tentative conversation about opening up, the jealousy that surfaces later, the agreements that keep everyone steady, and the communication skills that make the rest possible.
Can I see James in person?
Yes. In-person sessions run in Sydney, and I travel across Australia to run workshops. Everything else happens online by video, wherever you are.
Do you only work with non-monogamous people?
No. Most of my clients are exploring or living some form of non-monogamy, but plenty come for kink and BDSM, D/s dynamics, or general sex and relationship coaching — including monogamous couples wanting to reconnect. You don't need a label to book.
What is a sexologist, and is James one?
A sexologist is a trained specialist in human sexuality — sexual health, function, behaviour and relationships. Yes, James is one: he's certified through the Somatic Institute in San Francisco. That clinical grounding is why the coaching goes deeper than generic relationship advice, even though the format is coaching, not therapy.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
Not quite — and for a lot of people, that's the point. Coaching is practical and forward-looking: you leave with tools, homework and a game plan, not just insight. Plenty of clients come to coaching precisely because they want that structure and momentum — including people who've done therapy before and want something that moves.
