Expert, judgment-free coaching for open relationships, polyamory, kink and D/s dynamics — by video, wherever you are.
Non-Monogamy Co is a coaching practice founded by certified sexologist James Buckley, offering online support for ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, jealousy, kink, BDSM and D/s relationships. All coaching across the US and Canada happens online by video.

Coaching that fits your timezone
Every session is online, so where you live doesn't matter — when you're free does. Sessions run Thursdays and Sundays, roughly 2–7pm Pacific / 5–10pm Eastern — book to see the exact times in your zone. James has coached clients across the United States, as well as in Australia, Bali, Singapore, the UK and New Zealand, so an unusual timezone is rarely the problem it looks like.

Opening Up & Polyamory
Most people find me when a relationship is changing shape. Maybe you're opening up for the first time, dating as a couple, or already deep in a polycule and want it to run more smoothly. We work on the actual stuff — agreements, boundaries, communication, and the feelings underneath all of it.

Working Through Jealousy
Jealousy is the thing almost everyone worries about, and almost nobody talks about well. It's not a character flaw and it's not a dealbreaker — it's information. I'll help you read what it's telling you and build the security to move through it.

Kink, BDSM & D/s
For clients exploring kink, deepening a BDSM practice, or building a dominance and submission dynamic with care and skill. Grounded, judgment-free, and safety-first.

Practitioner Support
For therapists, counsellors and relationship coaches looking to better understand alternative relationships.

SW Support
For those doing SW for the first time, those with experience and those that date SWers.
Coaching is one-to-one. Teaching is how I reach everyone else. I write and speak for thousands of people through articles, talks and interviews, with self-paced courses coming soon. If you're not ready to book but want to start learning, the Learn hub is a good place to begin.

"Loved everything so far"
"I was just living monogamous relationships because that was all I knew. Now I feel like I have options."
- Sarah B.

"My life changed forever"
"James not only brings his depth of knowledge to our sessions, but also his passion and unique perspective too - I can’t recommend him enough"
- Anton K.

A non-monogamy coach helps individuals and couples navigate open relationships, polyamory and other forms of ethical non-monogamy. That covers the whole arc — the first tentative conversation about opening up, the jealousy that surfaces later, the agreements that keep everyone steady, and the communication skills that make the rest possible.
Yes. All US and Canadian coaching happens online by video, with session times built around North American evenings and weekends.
No. Most of my clients are exploring or living some form of non-monogamy, but plenty come for kink and BDSM, D/s dynamics, or general sex and relationship coaching — including monogamous couples wanting to reconnect. You don't need a label to book.
A sexologist is a trained specialist in human sexuality — sexual health, function, behavior and relationships. Yes, James is one: he's certified through the Somatic Institute in San Francisco. That clinical grounding is why the coaching goes deeper than generic relationship advice, even though the format is coaching, not therapy.
Not quite — and for a lot of people, that's the point. Coaching is practical and forward-looking: you leave with tools, homework and a game plan, not just insight. Plenty of clients come to coaching precisely because they want that structure and momentum — including people who've done therapy before and want something that moves.
Set out on an extraordinary journey with me at Non-Monogamy Co, where diversity is embraced and experience runs deep. As a certified sexologist and relationship coach, I support people across the US and Canada exploring non-monogamy, kink/BDSM and LGBTQI+ relationships — including those involved in sex work and those dating sex workers.
Via video sessions across the US and Canada, I offer a warm welcome to those navigating the complexities of polyamorous relationships. I understand the exciting aspects and challenges that come with ethical non-monogamy, and provide a place of understanding for individuals to explore, grow, and strengthen their connections.
At Non-Monogamy Co, I recognize that each relationship is as unique as the people in it. Wherever you are in the US or Canada, my coaching and education are tailored to your specific needs, fostering an environment where you can explore, learn, and build meaningful connections without judgment.
Whether you're seeking guidance in a queer relationship, exploring the dynamics of polyamory, delving into kink/BDSM, or finding your place in the non-monogamy community, I'm here to help you build fulfilling and authentic connections. Welcome to a space where your relationships can flourish.
Sex and Relationship Coaching is not psychotherapy. I am not a physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed social worker or licensed marriage and family therapist, and I do not offer therapy, psychotherapy or medical advice.
